25 years later, Space Jam’s legacy lives on. This manifests itself through two interesting aspects. First, the cult movie sequel is slated for launch in midsummer this year, and Nike has a pair of iconic low-themed Air Force 1s to celebrate it.
The first real images of the Space Jam-themed AF1 dubbed “Hare Force 1” have just surfaced well in time before the launch of the long-awaited Space Jam sequel. The iconic sneaker itself is now getting a makeover after 25 years, and it’s awesome.
Hare Force 1
The one-of-a-kind sneakers have been making waves in fan and collector circles since it was first learned that Nike was working on the iconic pair to celebrate the sequel. Now the footage has added a lot to the anticipation despite a lot of details yet to surface.
From its appearance, as you can imagine, the Hare Force 1 revolves around the characters of Bugs Bunny and Lola from the cult movie Space Jam released in 1996. The two most recognizable characters of Loony Tunes are sewn on the sides and the tongue of the pair of sneakers in all their glory Tune Squad.
The white and blue combo
Bugs and Lola Bunny can be seen with the basketball in hand, sewn to the sides of the white leather upper and even to the tongue. Apart from this subtle modification, the AF1 remains unchanged – true to its hard base – and comes with a white base highlighted by a blue Swoosh, heel and outsole.
The Space Jam-themed Hare Force 1 is set to launch towards the release of Space Jam: a new legacy with LeBron James scheduled for July 16. While this is more of a collector’s choice, if your fandom grows you can grab it for $ 120 when it is available.
