Kendrick Lamar and PgLang launch Converse sneakers

We’re all waiting for Kendrick Lamar to release his highly anticipated new album Mr. Morale and Big Steps May 13.

Now before the new album, Kendrick and his company PgLang collaborated with Converse for custom sneakers. Longtime Kendrick collaborator and PgLang co-founder Dave Free said he and the rapper teamed up on the design with Converse, but the entire PgLang team eventually got their hands on the design. They are exclusively available on

“We’ve designed shoes together in the past,” Dave Free said of his work with K.Dot on the sneakers. “Both the Chuck 70 and the Pro Leather still have elements of those shoes. We learned a lot from that process about what not to do and tried a new take.

Entitled “pgLang for Converse”, the collection features two classic Converse silhouettes, the Chuck 70 and the Pro Leather. Dave Free added of the partnership, “We now have this thing where we cold call companies and tell them what we want to do and Converse was down. We wear Chucks all the time, so we thought we might as well make a PgLang version.

The song “One of One” by new PgLang signee Tanna Leone is featured in the short film released to promote the collaboration. Watch it below.
