Kendrick Lamar pgLang Converse Chuck 70

Kendrick Lamar has been relatively “out of action” for the past five years, but “oklama” — the alter ego the Compton native puts on for his Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers album — is soon coming out of the woodwork. In addition to releasing the aforementioned album, the 34-year-old lends his agency pgLang’s creative vision to both the Converse Chuck 70 and the Pro Leather.

Like some of the other creative work undertaken by the Lamar and Dave Free co-founded agency for Baby Keem and Calvin Klein, both classic “One Star Brand” silhouettes engage in minimal makeovers rooted in storytelling. Subtle shades of white take over both sneakers, with the larger of the two pairs also donning classic red and blue accents. Metallic eyelets appear along the tongue, with “pgLang” and “a” branding complementing Converse logos on the profiles, spines, and sock liners. With the first-ever pgLang x Converse collaboration, both parties celebrate what’s established and what’s to come.

Continue for campaign images from the pgLang for Converse collection and find both pairs of shoes via Converse.com and pg-lang.com starting May 2.
