editorial director of Who What Wear, Lauren Eggertsen, understood the mission when she moved from her shared apartment in New York to a one-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles with five cupboards.
No, this is not an exaggeration.
From an entire shoe closet (we’re showing it off in our next apartment) to his epic collection of statement coats, Eggertsen’s wardrobe is full of stylish basics that will last a lifetime.
Not only are we jealous that Eggertsen is able to devote an entire closet to sneakers, boots, and heels, but she’s also broken her wardrobe into thoughtful categories, which makes sorting easier. Sweatshirts and outerwear live in one closet; dresses in another; separates in the third; shoes in the fourth; and her long “New York life” coats which she will never part with in the fifth.
Are you still jealous of all the storage space?
Eggertsen’s collection includes a superb Bottega Veneta bag she literally shed tears on when she bought it. âIt’s just one of those iconic designer pieces that you invest in and keep forever,â she says.
Eggertsen cherishes her brand new designer pieces, but she also loves to hang second-hand pieces, like some ’70s-inspired Prada pants that she bought on The RealReal. âI wear them with just a white tank top and my Converse and it’s over,â she adds.
Oh, and Eggertsen doesn’t just own any Converse-she owns of them pairs that A $ AP Rocky has even been spotted wearing with flames on the sides.
There is no doubt about it: Eggertsen’s wardrobe is really on fire.
