So Super Smash Warner Bros. ?
The world of platform fighting games has expanded far beyond Super Smash Bros. for a number of years now, and another company may be looking to enter the ring in the not too distant future as well.
An alleged leak on Reddit claims that Warner Bros. and potentially NetherRealm Studios are currently developing their own crossover fighter featuring the greatest properties of WB, which could be called Multiversus.
The leak posted to r / GamingLeaksAndRumors indicates that NRS’s next title is a Smash Bros.-based platform fighting game with a slightly different twist.
This game is supposed to be based on a tag team mechanic, although the leak manager says he’s not sure if the characters come in preselected pairs or if there can be custom teams.
Interestingly, they name nearly a dozen fighters who would be confirmed with Shaggy (Scooby-Doo), Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings), Tom & Jerry, Batman, Fred Flintstone, Mad Max, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Johnny. Well done made the cut.
However, no Mortal Kombat character is listed, but at least Scorpion and Sub-Zero should be included if this project is indeed real.
Following the initial leak, a brand new was discovered which was filed in late September by Warner Bros. for a title called Multiversus.
All we know about the brand is that Multiversus is indeed meant to be some kind of video game, which the maintainer claims he wasn’t even aware of when he originally posted his post, they didn’t. therefore not know if this is the actual title or not. .
Game leaks that are posted on this Subreddit are usually removed if the poster cannot substantiate its claim to the moderators, but this WB title is still live, giving credit to its potential authenticity.
This WB platform fighter is real, but it’s not a Netherrealm game. Go on. https://t.co/WkMiKf4dTH

Additionally, industry insider and journalist Jeff Grubb corroborates that the WB platform fighter is real, but not actually developed by NetherRealm.
Even if that is the case, it would certainly make sense for NRS to be involved in some way or another given that fighting games are their area of ââexpertise and their Mortal Kombat characters would likely be in the mix.
There are already a handful of rumors alleging what NetherRealm is working on next, including a Marvel Comics-based game, another Mortal Kombat, and more recently before this Injustice 3, so suffice to say we don’t really know what’s going on. going over there.
While all of this is still just internet rumors, it’s certainly not hard to imagine WB going down this road given how much they seem to love crossovers.
Just watch Space Jam 2, all of that Scooby-Doo features straight to DVD, and the guest characters from Mortal Kombat and Injustice for a few simple examples.
Oddly enough, the leaker claims this project started because of the memes of Ultra Instinct Shaggy and the people asking for it for Mortal Kombat, so the internet may have a wish to see him fight Scorpion after all – which we already have in some way. sort in film form not too long ago.
For now, all we can really do is sit back and wait and see what Warner Bros. and potentially NetherRealm are preparing behind the scenes.
