Fashion sense meets spider sense.
At the Los Angeles premiere of âSpider-Man: No Way Homeâ on Monday, Zendaya channeled Marvel’s main character with his iconic style.
She stepped out in a plunging Valentino dress covered in black spiderweb stitching, accessorizing the high-slit style with black Christian Louboutin heels and Bulgari jewelry.
But perhaps the most themed element of her outfit? A sparkling black mask with a mesh over the eyes, referencing Spider-Man’s famous superhero mask.
The web-filled look seemed to have some connection to another superhero-related style, like a Twitter user compared it to a spring 1997 John Galliano dress embellished with a spider’s web in the same fashion that was even featured in a superhero-themed Met exhibit in 2008.
This isn’t the first time Zendaya has dusted off a couture cobweb, so to speak, for a “Spider-Man” event, as she attended the London premiere in an Alexander McQueen jacket adorned with canvas webs. ‘glittering spider and matching Jacob & Co. earrings, which a jeweler’s rep told Page Six Style are worth $ 31,800.
She also walked the red carpet at the Balloon D’Or in Paris last month wearing a Roberto Cavalli dress with a metal spine, drawing comparisons to “Spider-Man” franchise villain Dr. Octopus.
The CFDA Fashion Icon Award winner is known for channeling the characters in the projects she promotes, including referencing Lola Bunny with her colorful costume at the premiere of âSpace Jam: A New Legacyâ this summer.
For her last red carpet appearances, she was joined by her boyfriend and “Spider-Man” co-star, Tom Holland. The actor spoke about his girlfriend, 25, at the film’s London premiere, calling her a “shoulder to cry on” amidst life in the limelight.
At the Los Angeles premiere, Holland, 25, opted for a black Prada suit and Christian Louboutin shoes, also styled by staple Zendaya stylist Law Roach.
